I can't believe January is pretty much over! Once February rolls around my anticipation for spring grows, but it's still freezing here so I can't get too excited just yet. Here's a pretty basic look, but I added a faux leather belt I thrifted to add some detail. I always forget how easy it is to add a belt to an outfit and it always looks so good. I reccomend checking your local thrift shop for a good belt, especially if you're like me and don't wanna drop $20+ on one (am I right?) Accessories are always a good way to make a boring outfit a little more interesting, especially this time of the year when you just wanna look like a potato.
When the weekend rolls around all I went to wear is jeans because during week I dress up a bit for work (aka no denim!) This look is something I always gravitate towards because is comfy, casual, and chic. Who's got time to fuss with their outfit when they got errands to run on Saturdays?
It's reached that point of winter when the sun don't shine, it's cold AF, and you just want it to be spring already. We all hit that low point during the wintertime where everything just seems to suck. The term "winter blues" is a real thing--coined as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which affects many people throughout the world. I personally have been battling low moods this past week and wanted to share ten ways that help me feel better during this time of the year.

Girls. We run the world. It's amazing to see how many people turned out for the Women's March across America this past Saturday. Although I wasn't there physically, I stand by everyone who rallied, fighting for the rights that we as females deserve. Today I'm sharing a casual look that is actually nodding in the direction of spring (anyone else experiencing a little spring fever?) Comfy jeans, a cozy cardigan, bodysuit, and sneakers are pieces that make me feel comfortable and confident, which is something we as females should all feel, especially in a world that constantly tries to tear us down.

Shearling has been a huge trend this winter, which I'm totally on board with. A good way to edge up your wardrobe during these cold months is with a (faux) shearling moto jacket. You'll radiate those bad girl vibes walking down the street, but still look feminine and chic. This jacket in particular is from Zaful and can be worn with skinny jeans or even a dress--so versatile!
While we might already be counting down the days until spring (62!), there are still have a couple more months of cold weather. Although I hate the cold (most of the time), there are still many things I love about winter. Today I'm sharing ten of my essentials/favorite things that help make these months a little better.
Sweater dresses and over the knee boots are the perfect pair, especially in the wintertime because they keep me nice and toasty. I'm totally obsessed with this dusty pink/nude colored sweater dress from Tobi--it's so warm! I usually gravitate away from sweater dresses because #shortpersonproblems, but this one is a good length for me and drapes perfectly. I paired it with these black over the knee boots from DSW that are super comfy and warm as well. I've been wanting to add a pair of over the knee boots to my shoe collection and these are perfect to take me into spring.

TGIF! I have a 3 day weekend so I'm super stoked about that. The weather is doing that weird thing where it gets really warm after a week of below freezing temperatures and then my allergies go crazy. But I gladly accept it. Btw it's Friday the 13th and we just had a full moon so maybe that's why things are a little strange...

That past few weeks have been out of routine for me since I was off work for ten days for the holidays, which I'm incredibly grateful for because I got to spend time with my family and boyfriend. I was also sick twice and I took last week off from blogging to catch myself up on things. With that said, I'm sharing a casual winter outfit and thought I would share what I've been up to in the new year so far.

Happy New Year babes! Can't believe this is my first post of 2017, which is kind of late today because I've been trying to take it easy. I actually got sick on New Year's Eve and was in bed all night. Thankfully my boyfriend took care of me! Here is what I planned to wear that evening featuring this shimmery dress from Sans Souci. I love the whole layering shirts under dresses trend that's going on, so I thought this was a perfect way to have an edgy, yet chic holiday look.
