1. PRACTICE DAILY AFFIRMATIONS
Jot down a list of affirmations in a journal or your phone and review them in the morning to kick off your day on a positive note. These friendly reminders can also come in handy when you find yourself in an anxious situation at school, work, or any other public place that is making you second-guess yourself.
2. BE MORE MINDFUL
Mindfulness is the ability to be completely aware of your surroundings and can be practiced through meditation or as simple as taking a moment to pause. Focusing on your breath in a given moment blocks out all of the noise of the outside world, allowing you to be more present.
3. BE KINDER TO OTHERS
How you treat others is a direct reflection of who you are as a person. Expressing empathy towards a friend in need or smiling at a stranger on the street will brighten both their and your day.
4. CREATE A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT
Creating an space of good vibes will set you up for self-love success. Examine your group of friends and if someone is constantly making you feel bad, it might be time to consider if they're really you're friend. This also means unfollowing those Instagram accounts that make you feel like crap every time you scroll past.
5. KNOW WHEN TO GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK
Whether you've stressed out by an endless to-do list, pressing deadlines, or spending hours into the night diligently working on tomorrow's blog post, it's important to know when to give yourself a break. Step away from your computer and grab a glass of water, take a walk, or do some quick stretches or 5 minute yoga routine. Separating yourself from the task will allow you to clear your head and recharge.

6. FIND A HOBBY
Allowing yourself as little as 15-30 minutes a day to do something you enjoy is a great way to separate your mind from life's demands. Having this "me time" will not only bring you joy, but will make you feel more confident and even learn some new things. Some examples can be reading, crafts, cooking, writing, photography, dancing, hiking...the list can go on and on! What's a hobby you enjoy?
7. LEARN FROM BAD DAYS
I've learned so much and have become a wiser person from all the good and bad experiences I've had in my life. There are just some things you can't read about in a book. When something goes wrong at work, school, or with a friend or loved one, take it as a lesson to learn from and move forward.
8. PRACTICE GRATITUDE
The current state of of world is pretty crazy right now and I'm thankful everyday for the opportunities and privileges that I am granted. Gratitude can come in large forms such as all of your accomplishments you've made in life, or as little as everyday things we take for granted such as running water. The next time you're feeling down or being hard on yourself, write a list of all the things you've thankful for. Here is a list to help you get started.
9. ACCEPT THAT YOU CAN'T CONTROL EVERYTHING
At the end of the day there are just some things in life we have no power over. Take your focus away from your negative thoughts and use that energy to embrace love and positivity.
