November 30, 2016

CaseApp Phone Case Laptop Skin

The holidays are fast approaching which means it's time to start our gift shopping! This time of the year isn't all just about presents-- it's also a time to express gratitude and show your loved ones how much you care about them. I'm not the type of person that shows their love through how much money they spend--it's the thought that counts! A custom phone case or laptop skin from CaseApp is the perfect gift because it lets you get a little more creative and personal. Cases are an easy accessory to slip on and off your phone, so it doesn't have to be something to stress out over if the person will like or not. Today I'm sharing how I designed mine for my new iPhone 7 that CaseApp kindly sent to me. Stick around until the end of this post to learn how you can save 20% off your very own design!

How to Style a Shearling Denim Jacket

November 25, 2016

Jacket: Old Navy / Sweater: Zaful / Jeans: Forever 21 / Boots: Nordstorm (similar) / Hat: Primark

The shearling denim jacket has taken this season by storm. The shearling collar is a cozy and stylish spin on the classic denim jacket which makes it perfect for the fall and winter seasons. It's surprisingly super warm too and I've been getting so much wear out mine. November 23, 2016

Practice Gratitude Daily

Thanksgiving is upon us. For many of us that means relaxing with family, eating lots of good food, and expressing gratitude to the ones we love. But do be aware that there are many people in this world who do not have that privilege. It's easy to forget that it's important to practice daily gratitude and not just one day out of the year. In addition to being thankful for your family, good food, and Black Friday sales, take a few minutes out of your day to be thankful for the little things in life. Today I'm sharing 50 things to be grateful for everyday.

10 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

November 21, 2016

Thanksgiving is only a few days away and I honestly don't know what I'm wearing yet, but probably something cozy and comfortable like an oversized sweater, leggings, and chunky socks. For all the eating and lounging I plan to do at my parent's house, I don't want to be restricted by super tight clothing. Today I went into my archives to share 10 different looks perfect for celebrating the holiday, whoever you're with! I picked a variety of comfy outfits, as well as some a little more on the dressier side. I know that most people tend to have more casual, laid back days with their families, but some also might like to dress up too. I hope you can find some inspiration if you're like me and aren't exactly sure what you want to wear this weekend :)

November 16, 2016

Morning Person

2016 is slowly coming to an end, so it's definitely not too early to start thinking about our goals for the new year and dare I say resolutions. My goal for 2016 was to live a happier and more productive life, which I can say I achieved! I know a lot of people want to become a morning person, but don't know where to start or are unmotivated. I used to be night owl and never thought I would ever enjoy waking up early, but productively using my time in the morning is something that now brings me joy. Today I'm sharing how I taught myself to wake up earlier and make the most of my mornings, along with some tips for anyone that are aspiring to achieve the same goal.

Well, this isn't my first nor will be my last outfit post featuring a sweater. What can I say?? They are a top essential to get through the cold months. Whether chunky, over sized, roll neck, cropped, long, pullover, or cardigan--gimme them all! Today I'm styling this super warm gray sweater from Stylewe. I decided to embrace the mild weather for as long as I could and style it with my black denim skirt and Converse sneakers. Bar Harbor, Maine Travel Diary Part 2: Where I Ate

November 9, 2016

Here's part two of my Maine Travel Diary featuring the restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops I visited! I honestly ate out everyday and only had a home cooked meal twice. By the end of the trip I was sick of eating out and just wanted to go home and make my own meal (lol, dramatic). But that is part of traveling so I was very grateful to try so many different places.

Go-To Outerwear: Black Duster Coat

November 7, 2016

Black Duster Coat
Coat: Zaful / Jeans: BDG / Shirt: New Dress / Shoes: Nike / Hat: Primark / Bag: Zaful

Now that is has cooled down a bit I've been loving a good piece of outerwear. A black duster jacket/coat is a fall/winter essential, as it goes with anything--even all black. When I'm running late in the morning I don't have to think about what coat to wear depending on my outfit underneath, I can just chuck this on and head out the door. This one from Zaful can be dressed up or down, so I styled here in a more casual way. I also picked out some similar coats to shop at the end of this post, so be sure to check that out!

November 4, 2016

Sweater: Zaful / Jeans: vintage (similar/ Boots: Clarks / Bag: Old Navy / Belt: thrifted Jewelry: Rocksbox (use my code "insearchofsheilaxoxo" to try a month for free!)

One combination I tend to always avoid is navy and black. A so-called fashion "faux-pas," I think most people have ditched fashion rules and now embrace wearing whatever they want. Navy for me, however, was always a color I avoided. I always gravitated towards black because it was safe--I honestly didn't know how to style navy. I always thought to myself, I can just wear it in black! So here I am, challenging myself again and sharing 5 tips on how to rock navy and black together.

It's crazy that my last Monthly Buys was for the month of August! If you didn't know, I took a month off from spending for the month of September and shared my experience and tips. Well, October was a different story...I stocked up on some clothing I wanted to take on my trip to Maine and went a little crazy on makeup for my Halloween costume. Lets see how much damage I did:
