A few weeks ago my friend Katie and I went to see Brand New and Modest Mouse at the Merriweather Pavillion outside Baltimore. I hadn't been to a concert/show in about a year and half and TBH, I forgot how to dress for one! I knew it was going to be outside, so I focused on comfort. I decided on sneakers, a denim skort, tank top, baseball cap, and a backpack.
You should all know by now about my love affair with hats... It was really hot this day so it came in handy to block the sun rays and my not-so-good hair day.
I highly recommend sneakers for any type of outdoor event, especially to protect your feet (durable boots would be even better). Depending on what kind of concert you're going to, you might end up really close to people who aren't paying attention and will straight up step on you, haha. You also might not know what the terrain is like if you're going to be outside. I wore my trusty black Converse high tops that I've owned for over 10 years and are still in great condition. I also don't care if they get messed up (sometimes rain can become an issue) so I didn't spend all night thinking about possibly ruining them.
Personally, I prefer shorts for concerts. I don't like the chance of my bits hanging out or exposed in large crowds and since we had lawn seats, we were sitting in between sets. A skort is a good alternative if you want to still look cute IMO!
Katie wore black sneakers too! Great minds think alike. She also just dyed her hair purple and it looks fab.
A decent sized backpack is always a must for me so I can carry my essentials such as water, snacks, a portable phone charger, and a sweatshirt. It ended up getting a little chilly at night, so I needed to cover up.
I don't really have many photos of the concert itself, because we had lawn seats and were pretty far from the stage. I've seen Brand New a couple of times before, so it was nice to just hang out on the grass and sing along in my own space. I've never seen Modest Mouse live though and they were soo fun! They performed last so by that time I had a beer and half in me and was groovin' all night.
Beer was $10 btw! I know venue prices are outrageous, but I thought it was going to be at least a few dollars cheaper. Oh well, it's all part of the experience!
What do you think of these outfits? What do you usually wear to concerts? Who was the last band/musician you saw in concert or would like to see?
