My Monthly Buys | June 2016

July 11, 2016

I'm going to be honest and say that June was a huge f*ck it month for me when it came to money. But hey, I still had money left over to pay for my rent and bills, which is all that matters. Another thing I have to be honest about is that this whole My Monthly Buys series actually helps me spend less (yes, this month could have been a lot worse) because the more I buy, the more I have to document! Kind of a funny way to spend less, but it definitely works!

BooHoo: $53

So I did some damage at BooHoo.com, but I got everything here (except the rings) for half off. I stocked up on some things for work and summer and I love everything I got! I've already styled the pink dress in this post and be on the look out for how I style the others.

Forever 21 Pink Crop Top: $8 / Black Aldo Lace-up Flats from DSW: $30 / Thrifted Black Skort: $4
Between the Forever 21 culottes and crop top I only spent $15 out of pocket because I had $10.90 on a gift card. And isn't this skort too cute?!

Adidas Tank via Burlington Coat Factory: $15

Nike Cap from T.J. Maxx: $10 / Puma Sides from Burlington Coat Factory: $12

Brown Heeled Sandals from Marshalls: $30
I got these to wear to my friend's wedding. The insert actually ripped off while I was wearing them, so I need to super glue that soon...

Topshop @ Nordstrom: $53
Okay, I found black Joni jeans on sale for $43 so I clearly had to buy them! I also picked up a basic white cropped tank for $10.

iHerb.com: $21
Organic Spirulina: $3 / Witch Hazel: $1 / Acure Facial Scrub: $8.50  / Risha Matcha Powder: $7 / Organic Coconut Flakes: $3 / Jojoba Oil: $5 / Organic Tea: Free Samples!

So I heard about iherb.com from Amy of Vagabond Youth and decided to pick out some products to try because she had a $5 off code and shipping was free over $20. If you've never heard of iHerb it's an online market place for organic and natural products. They carry everything from skin care and makeup to food. I totally recommend checking the site out. They also have Super Specials so definitely check those out to catch a deal. If you have any questions about these products listed just leave me a comment or shoot me an email @ insearchofsheilablog@gmail.com

Total June Expenditures: $243
Okay, so it was a bad (financial) month. Lets just say I had a little extra money and I felt secure enough to go wild with the clothes. I probably shouldn't have bought those brown heeled sandals, but they were totally an impulse/special occasion buy. I do want to style them here on the blog soon.

Did you regret buying anything last month? Is there anything you plan on buying/on your wishlist for the month of July?

  1. Love those Topshop picks, such a great deal for $43 for those jeans! And if you're feeling secure with money then it's ok to indulge every now and then!

  8. Reverse psychology all the way, Sheila, hahaha. Loving all the clothing items you picked out this month! I splurged quite a bit in June, too. Mostly on makeup which is something I never do, really, but I justified my spending on the fact that it's my birthday month, hahaha.
