I wanted to create a casual and cool look and this is what I came up with! It's actually inspired by Yanin from I Dress Myselff who always pulls off those casual cool vibes so effortlessly. Everything I'm wearing are old pieces, just worn in different ways! The navy and white top I bought from Ebay I believe back in high school that I cropped myself and I've had this pair of Converse since 8th grade. They are actually a bit dingy, but still have life to them. Lastly, the mom jeans were given to me by a friend and I honestly continue to love them as I pair different things with them. If you follow my blog you have seen them recently here, here, and here. You don't always need new pieces to spice up your wardrobe, you just need to experiment with what ya got.
I added my khaki jacket because it was a little nippy and windy out this day. It gives the outfit a more androgynous and preppy feel and kind of reminds me of that 50's greaser look.
To finish the whole look off I wore a top-knot. I actually think I styled the outfit around the hair style, which is something I don't normally do. I used to wear these a lot and stopped for some reason (I think because I was growing my bangs out?), but I'm digging them now so you will see them more.
Do you like finding new ways to wear key items in your closet? What are your favorite pieces to wear in different ways?
Top: Ebay /// Jeans: Vintage, second hand /// Shoes: Converse /// Jacket: thrifted
P.S. Someone commented on my last post about how I should look at the camera more (lol). In my defense for these shots and most of my other ones the sun was shining right on me and I had to look away to avoid being blinded by the light :) But yes, I do avoid looking directly in the camera, haha.
