There's no place like home for the holidays... This year was very different than the Christmases I am used to. I have not mentioned this on the blog yet, because I just wasn't ready to bring it up I guess, but now seems like the appropriate time. My grandmother who lived with me since I was a child passed away this last September at the age of 84 (She was just a week shy of turning 85). I have to be honest with you all, I have not suffered the loss of a loved one super close to me, ever. My cousin Matt died in a car accident 5 years ago at the age of 20 and it was quite devastating because of how young he was. We weren't, however, extremely close because he lived in Missouri. I don't even remember the last time I saw him before that. What I mean to say, really, is that I have a different way of dealing with death than most people.
Another one of my Black Friday purchases were these Topshop Joni jeans!! I've been coveting a pair for quite some time now, but couldn't cough up $70...so I managed to score them for $27 on (MEGA) sale and am in love with them. When I tried them on I kind of freaked out because they made me feel so amazing...never had a piece of clothing make me feel so good about myself before!
I do have to say, however, that they are tight as hell--definitely tighter than the American Apparel Easy Jeans...how do y'all put up with this? For #fashion I guess. I got the petite size (I'm 5'3") and they are the perfect length! I usually prefer short inseams in my bottoms to avoid bunching or rolling them up too much. They are also pretty thick material...I will definitely be wearing these throughout winter, despite the ripped knees haha.
I should be posting wintry outfits with lots of layers and coats and the like, but honestly that wouldn't reflect the weather lately. These shots are from last week and it was warm enough for this, lol. I keep talking about weather in every post, whether it's warm or cold!! Side note, I finally got a pair of American Apparel Easy Jeans during their Black Friday sale. I got such a good deal haha...only way to buy them.
I did it! Earned my Master's degree in Applied History, that is! Many of you probably had no idea I was in graduate school (I did talk about it in some posts AND it was in my bio FYI...) and I graduated last Friday evening. I'll spare any other details, but if you would like to know more about my program or what I "plan to do" with my degree, you can always shoot me an email (email@example.com). I mentioned a few posts back that I actually already got a part-time archiving job (which is in my field) and I was so surprised at all the amazing comments from you guys! It really means a lot that you care (lol).

Surprisingly, I've never done a post featuring some of my favorite bloggers! I've been trying to get inspired lately for winter and thought I would share some of my recent favs with you all. Clearly all these lovely ladies share similar street-casual-chic vibes which I've been really into lately.

December 4, 2015
It's December! This month is going to fly by so fast. I mean, there's only 21 days until Christmas...3 weeks!! I am a huge procrastinator when it comes to Christmas shopping (well I'm a procrastinator when it comes to anything really).
For those of you out there who are currently shopping to avoid this stress (or fun?) be sure to check out ZNU's Christmas Big Sale. ZNU started out selling vintage clothes on eBay and has grown to become a women's online fashion store with an affordable range of clothing, accessories, and shoes.
From December 1 until December 27 you can get everything with the special price of up to 60% OFF!
Sign up with the site to enjoy your VIP shopping trip to get your Christmas gift quickly. I think it's nice that they extend this offer after Christmas for those of us who need a late gift or want to spend some of our holiday money.
Are you an early or late shopper? Enjoy the big crowds or rather shop online?
