The Graduate

December 14, 2015

I did it! Earned my Master's degree in Applied History, that is! Many of you probably had no idea I was in graduate school (I did talk about it in some posts AND it was in my bio FYI...) and I graduated last Friday evening. I'll spare any other details, but if you would like to know more about my program or what I "plan to do" with my degree, you can always shoot me an email ( I mentioned a few posts back that I actually already got a part-time archiving job (which is in my field) and I was so surprised at all the amazing comments from you guys! It really means a lot that you care (lol).

Here's what I wore under my gown. It's still been SO WARM here (this is so abnormal it's ridiculous) during the day but gets pretty chilly at night. I went with this plaid dress because it's my school colors (navy and red), is "smart" looking, and I never really wear it! Paired it with tights and chunky boots because I don't have any closed toe heels nor would I necessarily wear them on stage lol.

Andddd here's a lovely shot of me with my parents who have always supported me in my collegiate journeys (and helped me financially!!!) They were very proud, if you can't tell! Unfortunately my brother couldn't make the trip down, but the dog did!

Now that school is over I should have more time to blog. My boyfriend took all these photos (why he's not in any lol) and helped me shoot two other outfits, so new content is on it's way :)

Dress: Amazon /// Boots: ASOS

  1. congratulation

  2. Congratulations, Sheila! I'm loving the dress you wore; it's not necessarily you but paired with the tights and chunky boots (chunky boots all the way, lol) you definitely made it your own.

Completely unrelated question but your e-mail address intrigues me, haha; why 'voicetherapy'?

    1. Thank you! It's more "professional Sheila" I guess, haha. And I get that question a lot LOL some people think I'm a therapist, but no it's really old (like 2007-2008) and I thought of it back when it was "cool" to have weird & ironic usernames. I'm too lazy to convert everything to a new email lol.

  3. Congrats! What a great feeling to be finished with your graduate degree!

  4. CONGRATSSSS!!! You're so smart and strong! So proud! :D

  5. Congratulations! That's such a big accomplishment. That's the perfect outfit to wear under your robe. I hope you feel relieved now that it's over
