I took a few days off and went to the beach in Atlantic City, New Jersey with my best gal pals. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing because Alicia and I had been "planning" to go to the beach all summer, but just never got the chance because of work. Since school starts back up next week we thought it was now or never...luckily our friend from back home, Sara, was able to get off too! She was able to book us a hotel a block from the beach and I honestly miss the whole trip so much right now.
We ate at Guy Fieri's Chophouse which was pricey, but enjoyable. Some of you may know him from the Food Network, haha. That view from out the window though...why people make reservations.
Atlantic City is know for its casinos. I played the slot machines for the first time and on my first try (I only put a dollar in) I was up $4...but kept playing and lost the $6 I put in altogether. I am not a gambler in any form, but Sara won $410! The last night we were there we stayed at this bar until like 4 or 5am with some Canadian guy that asked to hang out with us and bought us drinks (we weren't gonna say no...when in Rome, right?) We also met some Irish guy, which was comical because we were all drunk. It's honestly like a time warp in those casinos...there are people just chilling into all hours of the night. I can see why gambling is an addiction, haha.
So yeah, I am missing beach life right now. Just standing in the ocean with the waves hitting you is memorizing. Growing up I never went to the beach, so now in my 20s it's quite a magical feeling. I have a few rolls of film that still need to be developed from the trip, so expect that in the future! Now that I'm back from my trip I need to get back into blogging (I have so much work to do!) and also prepare myself for my final semester of graduate school.
