Memorial Day

May 30, 2014

Hope everyone in the states had a great Monday however you celebrated it! I spent the afternoon with my best pals drinking beers, playing pong, hula hooping, grilling, and just soaking up life! I went for a red, white, and blue themed outfit because why not? I see this striped crop top from Forever 21 becoming a wardrobe staple this summer for sure.

Only Just Begun

May 26, 2014

Summer is slowly making it's way in because when I shot these photos the sun was HOT! Gotta love Memorial Day weekend... the "unofficial" start of summer; seemingly warmer weather, cookouts with friends and family, and of course the opening of pools!

When I got dressed I was fussing with different outfits and nothing struck me as taking the cake. This outfit was inadvertently put together and I am quite pleased with it! I honestly gave up and threw on this cami and then found these shorts...and added the boots and hat and I was stunned. I got these shorts last year and considering their light material and fit I'm pretty sure they be worn quite often this summer.

Excuse the jumping picture. I took this shot on my first try (self timer) which is very rare and needs to be commended, at least on my part. Anyway, I'm off to a cookout with friends. :D Have a lovely week!

The Bodycon Skirt

May 24, 2014

I own two bodycon skirts--this one and a plain black one and I have always neglected wearing them. They would only come out of my closet if I was going to the club/bar...or if I was feeling really adventurous. My issue with these skirts is how short and tight they are--I would always feel hella uncomfortable wearing them anywhere. Somewhere along the way (aka the past month) I've found a totally new appreciation for them and I want to buy more! I think this new respect comes from the way the cut of the skirt and the right top gives my body appealing proportions (I'm petite so I struggle with looking stumpy in outfits). I've also been trying to figure out other ways to wear shirts without tucking them in. I really like this outfit and wore it for a trip to Philadelphia to visit some friends for dinner and drinks.

Here I go again posting awkward pictures of my face again. I honestly don't care at this point (lol) and this picture was perfectly in focus I had to share it. Whatever forever! What about that ax though? I promise I wasn't off on a murderous rampage...anyway, my slacking on this blog has become quite depressing for me and I need to step up my game. Last week just kind of coasted by because I was visiting my boyfriend's and whenever I go there for a long time I feel like I get sucked out of reality which is nice, but can also do a number on my life. I've also been trying to come up with outfits without my creepers but it's so damn hard, I love these shoes so much. *sigh* I am on the hunt for new pieces (especially shoes and sandals) and hope to share them soon!

Yellow Dot

May 17, 2014

I spent some much needed time in the sunshine on this day at Valley Forge...it was actually kind of hot. I've never visited Valley Forge when I was little (a very historical place!) and toured around the whole site by myself last summer when I was volunteering at the help desk. There's a lot of recreational activity that goes on here besides the typical touristy visiting stuff--I usually like to park in one area and take a short walk.

This outfiit is pretty lack-luster in my book. I honestly have issues when I pack for a few trips away and outfits just don't seem to come out the way they could if I had access to my entire wardrobe. I also need a new god damn pair of shoes (lol). One of my "goals" this summer is to attack my closet and rid of unnecessary items, which will be extremely hard. Anyways, click read more to see more from my day!

Spring Layers

May 7, 2014

I haven't gone out to do my own outfit photos in a while so I found yesterday the perfect opportunity because a) I finally got a day off after 7 days o.O and b) it was so nice out! I actually had too many layers on...summer will be here before we know it.

So lets talk about layering. I've been really inspired by the fabulous Lua of le-happy.com for this look. She effortlessly layers her pieces in the most clever ways that I would seriously have never known if she didn't write about it! So I layered a t-shirt over top this red floral dress by tucking it into a belt...ingenious! The dress actually has a stain on the top part, so that worked out pretty well. Lastly, I added my denim button up to give it more structure.

I also wanted to talk about my t-shirt! My friend April gave it to me...if you can't make out the detailing its of constellations with the state of Michigan outlined by connected stars. I love the *Mitten* state so much, and this shirt is also super comfy because its an American Apparel 50/50. You can never have too many black tees in my book.

Baby, love me lights out

May 4, 2014

I've developed a pattern of posting at least twice a week lately so I fell into kind of a funk only posting once last week...excuses, excuses do I have though. I started a second job so I've been swamped of energy & outfit photo time. I did manage to take some photos indoors a few days ago so here y'all go.

Okay. These pants. Jeggings. Whatever you wana call them--they're amazing! They had the same pair in black but for some reason these fit better and look better. I'm also trying to buy less black (ha) so these were a good $5 investment if I do say so myself. Expect to see them again soon because I have a great outfit ideaaaa that's way better than this one.

Lastly...I've been receiving such lovely and sweet comments from you guys. I started to focus on fashion blogging this year to inspire and be inspired and it is so awesome to know that people can take away something from my outfits and photographs. <3 comment-3--="">
